Terms of service

What Labelgrade is — and isn't
Labelgrade publishes editorial content about branded packaged foods, including a 0–100 score and letter grade for each product covered. Labelgrade is not:
- A medical, dietary, or fitness service. We do not provide medical advice.
- A retailer. We don't sell food.
- A nutrition labeling certification body. Our Labelgrade is editorial, not regulatory.
- An endorsement of any product, brand, or retailer. Affiliate links earn us a commission but do not constitute an endorsement.
No medical advice
Nothing on labelgrade.com is medical advice. Information about protein content, ingredients, sodium, sugars, or any other nutrient is provided for general informational purposes. If you have allergies, kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, an eating disorder, or any other condition where nutrition specifics matter — consult a qualified medical professional or registered dietitian before making dietary decisions based on our content. We are not your doctor, dietitian, or coach.
Accuracy and limitations
We make commercially reasonable efforts to publish accurate information, sourced primarily from USDA FoodData Central and verified against current product labels. However:
- Nutrition data can be outdated if a manufacturer has recently reformulated a product.
- USDA's Branded Foods database does not receive all manufacturer updates; some entries may lag retail labels by months.
- Always verify against the actual product package label before making a decision that depends on precise values (e.g., severe allergies, strict macronutrient targets, religious or ethical sourcing).
Our methodology, including known limitations, is documented at /methodology.
Affiliate links
Some links on labelgrade.com are affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, Labelgrade may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect our editorial scoring. See /affiliate-disclosure for the full disclosure required by the US Federal Trade Commission.
Intellectual property
- Original Labelgrade content (writing, scoring formula, page templates, code) is © 2026 Labelgrade. All rights reserved unless otherwise marked.
- Product names, brand names, and trademarks referenced on Labelgrade belong to their respective owners. We use them under nominative-fair-use principles to identify the products we cover. No affiliation or endorsement implied.
- USDA FoodData Central data is in the public domain.
- Open Food Facts data is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) and used accordingly.
- Product images, when used, are sourced from the manufacturer or retailer and credited. We use them in an editorial/comparative context and remove or replace any image upon valid request from the rights holder.
You may quote up to 100 words from any Labelgrade page with credit and a link back. For longer quotation or republication, contact us.
User submissions
If you submit a product request, correction, or any other communication to Labelgrade, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that submission for editorial purposes (including publishing a correction on the corrections page). You retain ownership of your submission and may request it not be published.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape Labelgrade in a way that disrupts service (modest rate-limited use for personal research is fine).
- Use Labelgrade content to train commercial AI models without permission (LLM training is a complex evolving area; we may negotiate licenses).
- Frame, mirror, or otherwise rehost Labelgrade pages without permission.
- Misrepresent Labelgrade content (e.g., quote a score out of context or claim Labelgrade endorses a product when we don't).
Disclaimer of warranties
Labelgrade is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of any content on the site. Your use of the site is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Labelgrade, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising from or related to your use of labelgrade.com — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Labelgrade against any claims arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Labelgrade shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
